Peeter is one of the busiest film directors in Estonia today. The films just keep on coming and they keep on getting better and better. He acquired his film education as a student of Professor A. Stolper at the Soviet National Cinematography Institute. Peeter graduated from this famous film school as a motion picture and television director with summa cum laude honors.
He has been making films since 1977. „Ideaalmaastik“, „Inimene keda polnud“, „Arabella”, „Ameerika Mäed“, etc. have received several awards at various international film festivals.
Aleksandr Borodjanski - Script Writer
From 1975 to this day almost 40 of Aleksandr’s screenplays have reached the screen. Among these is the highly popular film made in Estonia in 1992 named „Need Vanad Armastuskirjad“. Aleksandr has also written films such as „Всадник по имени Смерть“ (The Rider Named Death), „Олигарх“ (Tycoon), „Город Зеро“ (City Zero), etc.
He has been the Chairman of the Russian Filmmakers’ Union for good many years.
Mati Põldre - Script Writer
Mati probably knows everything about Georg. He made the first full-length documentary about the Great Baritone in 1980. His long-lasting dream to make also a motion picture about the life of this man has now become true.
He has for many long years been cinematographer at Estonian Television and director at Estonian Telefilm, he has also made music films.
One of Mati’s best known works is the film “Need vanad armastuskirjad” about the famous composer Raimond Valgre.
Rein Kotov - Cinematographer
Rein is undeniably the master of his field, he has been working as cinematographer for 16 years. Rein studied at the Soviet National Cinematography Institute in Moscow. He has been cinematographer for the films „Ruudi“, „Kõrini!“, „Somnambuul“, „Georgica“, „Karu süda“, „Jüri Rumm“, etc.
In 2003 the European Film Academy nominated Rein for the best cinematographer award for the film „Karu Süda“ (The Heart of the Bear).
Kalju Kivi - Production Designer
Kalju has been production designer for such great films as “Ma olen väsinud vihkamast”, “Aida”, „Nimed marmortahvlil”, „Täna öösel me ei maga“. He has directed animated films.
He is the head designer of the Estonian Children and Youth Theatre since1995.
Eugen Tamberg - Production Designer
Eugen has earlier been mostly known as costume designer („Nimed marmortahvlil” „Viimne palve“, „Must veri”), he has also been production designer for the films „Grazy Legs” and „Euroflot”. He has made many television films, television programs, music videos and advertisements as both production as well as costume designer.
Mare Raidma - Costume Designer and Production Designer
Mare has been involved with very many films and television series, almost 30 theatre and opera stagings and over 50 television commercials as costume designer and production designer. She has done design work for books, magazines and companies. Mare’s costumes can be seen in films „Ruudi“, „Täna öösel me ei maga“, „Somnambuul“, „Ameerika mäed“, „Sügis“, „Metsluiged“, etc.
Juri Potejenko - Composer
Juri has been writing music since 1989, now already for almost thirty motion and television pictures, including such recent Russian smash hits as „Ночной дозор“ (Night Watch), „Дневной дозор“ (Day Watch), „Ванечка“ (Vanechka), „Ленинград“ (Leningrad), television series „Бункер“ (Bunker), etc.
Seppo Vanhatalo - Sound Director
Seppo is like a one-man band. He has done everything one can imagine concerning film sound – he has been sound technician, sound editor, sound director, composer and musician already since 1980. He has recorded a lot of music. The number of films he has done is around one hundred.
Liina Triškina - Editing Director
Liina began studying film in Denmark at the European Film College and then moved on to study in Spain at the Catalonian Higher Film School, where she majored in direction of documentary film. To this day Liina has made films as script writer and director as well as editor.
Märten Kross - Producer
Märten has worked on two documentaries as producer – a portrait film about Jaan Kross named „Söerikastaja“, which won the award for best portrait film at the Estonian Film Festival in 2005, and in the same year a film about Peeter Simm named „Režii“, which he also wrote. Märten has studied photography with the world’s top photographers. From 2005 he is a graduate student of arts at University College for the Creative Arts (UK).
Ivo Felt - Co-Producer
Ivo Felt began his career in film back in 1987 at Tallinfilm. In addition to „Georg“, Ivo is currently the producer to documentaries „Surmaretk“ and „Jaan Toomik“.
Ilkka Y. L. Matila - Co-Producer
Ilkka Y. L. Matila works at the company MRP Matila & Röhr Productions. Ilkka has produced several famous Finnish films such as „Kuutamolla“, „Äidesta parhain“, „Suden Vuosi“, etc., and has been co-producer for the films „Nimed marmortahvlil“, „Ruudi“ and the Russian blockbuster „9. род“. In 2006 Ilkka received the award for best Finnish producer.
Sergey Zernov - Co-Producer
Sergei has been working in the film industry since 1996, he has produced a large number of motion pictures, documentaries and also animated films. From the year 2000 he is the head director of the film studio CNF Centre of National Film.
Member of the Russian Filmmakers’ Union and of the Producers’ Gild.
